CRUNCH! “Oh my! Did I just – awww, man!”

By the sounds of what just happened, you are probably thinking one of two things:

One: was that a car accident?

Or two: did someone just crack a tooth?

If you guessed option number two, then you were right. If you have never had this happen to you, then you can count yourself among the lucky ones. However, if you have had it happen to you, then you know that immediate sick feeling you get in your stomach. You might be in pain, worry about where to go to get it taken care of, and of course, your tongue cannot stop playing with this new oddity.

I cannot consider myself one of the lucky ones any more. Last week, when I was visiting my relatives, in Framingham, Massachusetts, we decided to go out to a movie. Sounds like fun, and it was, until I accidently bit into a kernel and cracked my tooth. Then, my night out went from pleasant to frantic as I desperately searched for a dentist in Framingham that took emergency calls. I did not realize that not every dentist takes on people in an emergency. I was so upset that it felt as though I called half of the dentists in Framingham, if not the entire state of Massachusetts! What a tizzy I was in. I could not believe how I had ruined my family night, not even to mention my little vacation.

Luckily, there are dentists in Framingham that do take on emergency cases, and I was fortunate enough to squeeze in an appointment for the next day. The dentist was kind and courteous, and she was so understanding about my dilemma that I recommended her to my aunt and uncle.

As I sat in her office, I was amazed by the comfort I felt. The modern equipment seemed cutting edge, and even though my procedure was not a great one, I was greatly impressed just the same. I was reading through different pamphlets as I was waiting for my emergency dentist, and I could not believe all of the services she offered. She even had a senior citizen’s discount. When I told my aunt this, she smacked my shoulder; taking offense at what I thought was an innocent comment. That’s a family for you, you try to help them out, and even find them a great new dentist in Framingham, Massachusetts, and all you get out of the deal is a smack!
